How we acquire our language is one of the most fascinating aspects of human development, and best practices in the classroom must be based on that research. This introductory course investigates theories of second language acquisition. Emphasis is placed on theories that have been proposed in the last twenty-five years and their impact on instruction. Conducted in English.

Registration for this course is by special permission only.  The following procedures MUST be followed in order to successfully register for this course.

2. Print the form out and fill in ALL of the required information.  You MUST indicate the language you teach/plan to teach on the registration form.

3. Return the form to me by one of the following methods:

    b) Email - If you can scan the completed form, you can attach the file (PDF, JPEG or other image file) to an email and send it back to me at

    d) In-Person Delivery - If you can not return the form to me by any of the previously listed methods, you can come in to my office and hand deliver the form.  I am in Room 102 of the College Avenue Language Lab - 20 Seminary Place, New Brunswick, NJ 08901.  My office hours are 9 am - 12 noon & 1 pm - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. 

Please Note:  Registration for this course will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.  Once the course is full, a waiting list will be created.  In order to be placed on the waiting list, your completed registration form must be received by the WLI office.  If spaces become available, registration forms will be processed from the waiting list in the order that the forms were received.

GRADUATE TUITION AND FEES - Spring Semester 2013 

New Jersey Resident: $626.00/credit
Non-Resident: $1025.00/credit
Registration is subject to various other University fees

Determination of residency status for tuition purposes can be affected by a number of factors, one of which being visa type if you are not a US citizen.
